Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to determine the perceptions of school administrators
with regard to social capital through metaphors. For this purpose, to produce
metaphors for the Social Capital concept has been requested from the school
administrators. A qualitative research method is used in this research and the
study group consists of 18 volunteer school administrators participated in the
seminar about social capital. The research data has been obtained by allowing the
participants to complete the sentences in the interview questions and content
analysis method is used in the analysis of data. As a result of research, it has been
observed that the school administrators mostly use (50%) Relationships metaphor,
and use Human metaphor at the very least when explaining the concept of social
capital with the metaphor. The findings obtained from the research indicate that
the school administrators mostly describe the concept of social capital as relationship
elements.
